Dutch Star and Subaru ready to go

Saturday, July 13, 2013

Getting the motorhome ready for our trip to Sacramento. We have reservations at Cal-Expo RV park August 14th. Its about 2,100 miles from Livingston the Sacramento so we'll have to leave sometime during the first week of August.

Lots of work has been done on the Dutch Star since we returned from Mexico in March. Besides having the oil pan replaced (previous blog post) we had new ball joints and tie-rods replaced on the front end suspension and a new set (six) tires.

Although the "new to us" Subaru had a tow hitch when we bought it, the wiring for the lights and brakes was not compatible with the Dutch Star so that had to be changed. (not a big  deal)

We find we have a unique situation where we now have two vehicles we can tow behind the motorhome. We're keeping the PT Cruiser as a second vehicle which we can tow as well... Just not in Mexico because its too low to the ground.
