Last night Diane and I went to a fund raiser in support of the establishment of a local Women's Shelter. It was sponsored by local and seasonal American and Canadian residents. We had a good time and enjoyed meeting everyone. There was a dinner served of either BBQ'd chicken or ribs. The ribs were delicious. There was also a silent aution and Diane had the winning bid on teeth cleaning by a local dentist.
This morning we joined a number of the locals who got together to clean the beach and although the beach was fairly clean we still collected a good pile of trash especially at an area where local fishermen dock their boats.
During last year's huricane season several feet of beach sand was pushed up against the sea-wall between the beach and our RV park. So that a high tide wouldn't bring water into the park, the owner had a backhoe pull back the sand to the beach. Leo and Hayley watched through the fence and can't wait to get out there tomorrow morning.
